Food, glorious Food – and my daily Bread

The World Health Organisation (WHO) estimates that as the result of Covid-19, 60 million people will be additionally cast into poverty in Third World countries longer term. This number may still double or treble. The poor are not worried about dying from Covid-19, their overwhelming concern is survival: FOOD FOR TOMORROW, breakfast for tomorrow morning and for the day after. That panic is brought about by the lockdowns and the lockdowns were brought about by Covid-19. Covid-19 will have devastating effects for years to come. With all the stress and pain in Australia brought about by it, and all the financial losses we too have, is there anyone who still worries about having enough to eat today or tomorrow? That was the concern of our forefathers 100 years ago but we have forgotten that already. We live in paradise as compared to most people in the world. When the poor of the world (who are Christians) pray ”Lord, give us today our daily bread (rice)”, God looks at US. For we are His hands and feet.
