Damadi home, Mayanmar - Surely a showpiece!

Damadi Home on Opening Day

Damadi Home – formerly Immanuel Children’s Home – was officially opened on Saturday 14 February 2015 in the presence of international guests from Finland and Korea and our team from Australia and representatives from many local church groups. It is a dream come true – a wonderful ‘act of God’.

Now it’s much more than a children’s home but the heartbeat and centre of the Lutheran Church of Myanmar. It has great potential for the future. In the end it was one particular AFA donor who helped this miracle to unfold but it also has been the work and the sacrifice of countless AFA supporters over many years right through Australia, and particularly from South Australia, who helped to make this happen. Remember when we battled to find those elusive $60,000 just to buy the land that is now worth $250,000. To simply say thank you to all is not good enough! We are overwhelmed! However, continued support for the many projects of AFA in Myanmar remains imperative – Damadi inclusive.
